The Senior Writer and Editor is responsible for developing and producing print and digital content for the Development and Alumni Relations Office that advances the institution's fundraising and alumni engagement priorities. The Senior Writer and Editor reports to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and will support institutional priorities as delegated by the Vice Chancellor. The incumbent will develop and manage major writing initiatives which advance the institution's priorities including major gift proposals, donor profiles and stewardship reports, and other communications in collaboration with senior development and other key stakeholders. The Senior Writer and Editor also will develop, research, and identify content that is aligned with University and IA goals and determine the appropriate communication channels for the various content, including University and IA publications, Web sites, and social media platforms; and provide editorial guidance and direction for donor appeals (e.g., major gifts, leadership annual gifts, etc.), stewardship publications, and alumni engagement communications. The incumbent must be able to clearly articulate content relevant to the goals of the University's fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives, and meet and collaborate with University leaders and faculty to create compelling original content, as well as edit as needed to ensure messages are clearly conveyed to target audiences and adapted to various formats.
